Box styles

• Rigid box with compartments: Separate compartments keep different foods apart until they are eaten.
• Drawer box: A tray slides out of an outer sleeve like a matchbox, which makes opening part of the experience.
• Window box: A window shows the product and lets it sell itself on the counter or shelf.

Materials and board

We match the board to the weight of the food and how far it travels. The main thing to plan for with tea gift boxes is heavy glass, uneven weight and knocks during courier delivery.

• Rigid greyboard: Thick board, usually 1.5 to 2.5 mm, wrapped in printed paper. It is used for premium gift boxes that customers keep and reuse long after the food is gone.
• E-flute corrugated board: A thin corrugated board around 1.5 mm thick that adds crush strength and a little insulation while still printing cleanly. It is the standard for pizza boxes, mailers and heavier food orders.
• Kraft paperboard: Unbleached kraft has a natural brown finish that suits rustic, organic and eco-minded brands. It prints best with bold one- or two-colour artwork, because the brown base shifts lighter colours.

Food safety

Pack perishables last and use inserts so heavy jars can't move onto delicate items.

Printing and finishes

Sustainable options

Kraft and recycled-content board, film-free windows and water-based coatings all help your tea gift boxes recycle more easily. We can add the Australasian Recycling Label to your artwork, and certified compostable options are available for some styles.
